The brownies: delicious American sweets

Fragrant, with crunchy exterior and a soft heart of chocolate: brownies, the classic American sweets are now becoming very popular throughout Italy.

The creation of the brownie is actually the result of a simple mistake; it is said that the chef who prepared it for the first time, was willing to make a chocolate cake, but he forgot to add the yeast in the dough.

The result was a success: once cooled and divided into squares, the dessert was offered to those present and they were all crazy for it. From then on, the brownie has come a long way, becoming part of the confectionery tradition of the whole World, showcased among the counters of the best pastry and ice cream shops.

The original American recipe for brownies

The original American recipe for brownies while being very greedy, is based on really simple ingredients like butter, sugar, eggs, extra-dark chocolate, 00 flour, cocoa, vanilla and a pinch of salt. When the chocolate is melted in bain-marie, the butter is added to obtain a homogeneous mixture, to which the remaining ingredients are then added. Depending on the size of the pan used, the brownie will have a different height, but still equally tasty.
